Lifespan

Temperament

Care

Provide secure indoor living, scratching surfaces, hiding places, separate food and litter areas, and daily play. Introduce new animals gradually. Keep water available and rooms comfortably cooled without exposing the cat to extreme temperature changes. Ask a veterinarian about diet, vaccinations and parasite prevention.

Welfare

The folded-ear mutation is associated with osteochondrodysplasia, a painful cartilage and skeletal disorder. Severity varies; seek independent veterinary welfare advice and do not treat folded ears as harmless.
