Safe Bird Housing During Hot Weather

Never assume a cage is safe because it is partly shaded. Direct sun can move across an enclosure and balconies may trap heat. Provide stable ventilation, clean water and an indoor cooling plan without strong drafts. Open-mouth breathing, weakness or loss of balance requires urgent avian-veterinary advice. Avoid transporting birds during extreme heat.
