Provide a comfortably cooled indoor space and several sources of fresh water. Check balconies and sunrooms before allowing access: they can heat quickly even when the home feels cool. Never leave a cat in a parked car. Panting, marked weakness or distress warrant urgent veterinary advice. Transport in a secure ventilated carrier with an agreed temperature plan.
